bees wax & magic - sleepy balm
Jess finds it hard to sleep and switch off, we've tried yoga and meditating but she's a busy bee who finds it very hard to stop buzzing. So today we made sleepy balm.
Lavender and chamomile flowers steeped in sweet almond oil and thickened with beeswax with added lavender essential oil.
Over a low heat, heat 125ml of sweet almond oil and a 60ml scoop of dried lavender and chamomile flowers together. Let this steep for 20 minutes gently - stay close by don't leave it!
Meanwhile grate 10gms of beeswax (if you don't have it in granule form.) Put the beeswax into a saucepan. (keep a special pan and wooden spoon for beeswax and herb concoctions.)
Line a sieve with filter paper and strain the herb oil into the saucepan so it pours onto the beeswax. Stir until the beeswax melts. Add the contents of one evening primrose oil capsule and 20 drops of lavender essential oil. Pour into a screw top jar and leave to cool. Use on pulse points when you find it hard to nod off...
